2571 Geisei, provisional designation 1981 UC, is a smaller asteroid in the asteroid belt discovered on October 23, 1981 by astronomer Tsutomu Seki at Geisei Observatory in the Kōchi Prefecture of Japan.〔 Belonging to the Flora family, the assumed S-type asteroid with a geometric albedo of 0.24 has a calculated diameter of 7 kilometers〔 and orbits the Sun at a distance of 1.8–2.7 AU once every 3 years and 4 months (1,215 days).〔 In September 2014, photometric observations of nine asteroids, including 2571 Geisei, at the Oakley Southern Sky Observatory in Coonabarabran, Australia, measured the asteroid's rotation period to be hours with an amplitude of 0.50 in magnitude.〔 It is named after the location of the discovering observatory, Geisei, about 35 kilometers east of the city of Kōchi, after which the asteroid 2396 Kochi, the first numbered discovery made by Tsutomu Seki at Geisei Observatory, is named.〔 == References == 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「2571 Geisei」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
